Spoon haven’t released a new album since 2022’s excellent Lucifer on the Sofa . But since they’re about to hit the road with the Pixies later this week, it only seems fitting they’d drop a brand-new double A-side single. Hope you like your indie rock of the “surprise!” quality.

Both “Chateau Blues” and “Guess I’m Fallin in Love” were recorded alongside producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, Nine Inch Nails, and St. Vincent). The former is a delightfully lo-fi jam — not unlike The Kinks meets The Ramones. Meanwhile, the latter is a bit more deliberate but is still packed with much of Spoon’s trademark wit, piss-and-vinegar mentality, and endless beaming heart.
