PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The FBI on Monday launched an intensive two-day search for clues to the whereabouts of Travis Decker near the Washington state campground where his three young daughters were found dead in early June.

Authorities are also focusing their search in an area near Leavenworth, Washington.

The FBI’s Seattle field office and the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office announced the latest effort at a joint press briefing Monday afternoon. The news comes after a months-long search for the man, who is wanted in the murder and kidnapping of his three young daughters in late May.

Teams began searching the rugged terrain near the Rock Island Campground with leadership from the FBI Seattle Field Office and help from the U.S. Forest Service.
