The Providence Journal is rolling out more preseason high school sports coverage with an annual tradition.

To drum up more community support for the upcoming fall season, we are publishing our preseason player of the year ballots. These ballots, created using our players to watch stories , have no bearing on postseason awards and are published to celebrate the new season.

It’s up to the fans to decide who they think should be the ProJo’s preseason MVP. Fans can vote from now until midnight on Sept. 1 for the girls volleyball preseason player of the year. More ballots for other fall sports will also be posted, so be on the lookout!
