Snoop Dogg's comments about LGBTQ representation in children's films has sparked backlash online.

The rapper, 53, said on a recent podcast that after watching Disney 's 2022 film Lightyear , which features a same-sex couple, his grandson had questions about it.

Why It Matters

Lightyear is a spinoff of the Toy Story franchise, and it was criticized by conservatives following its release. In the animated movie, a same-sex couple raises a child together, and at one point, they share a kiss .

Countries like the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt and Kuwait banned the film due to its depiction of homosexuality.
