LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- For seniors struggling to make ends meet, especially when it comes to paying utility bills, there is help.

The Project REACH Senior Expo offers assistance and is holding more events. The program is for those 62 and older who meet eligibility guidelines and have past due power bills.

"Today, we're connecting seniors to financial utility assistance," Angel Williams with NV Energy community relations said.

Not only will the utility help with the power bill, it will also help seniors reduce future bills by connecting them with smart thermostats and the qualified appliance replacement program.

"That's where you can qualify for a free refrigerator or electric dryer if your's is more than 10 years old," Williams said.
