PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Deputies in Pitt County are investigating the death of a man last night.

A sheriff’s office report says it happened around 6:30 p.m. at a home on W.W. Gaskins Road, that’s outside of Ayden.

The report says 52-year-old Benjamin Smith, who had a Maysville address, was found dead.

The sheriff’s office is expected to release more information on this case later today.
