Iwas surprised to find something I hadn't noticed before in Gears of War: Reloaded . The original Gears trilogy were favorites among my friends when they came out. I couldn't even begin to count how many times I played through the three campaigns in co-op, let alone how many hours we put into the multiplayer and Horde. Even with its iconic status, though, the first game is a bit of an oddity when compared to its two successors.

The original Gears of War is very light on details surrounding its setting. It does a great job painting the broad strokes, but the narrative doesn't take much time to fill you in on the history of Sera, something that would be pieced together by subsequent games and other media.
