TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Starting Tuesday, Tampa International Airport will begin participating in the “Families on the Fly" program, which aims to make the travel experience for families or large groups a lot easier.
The airport will now offer lanes specifically dedicated to families to help streamline and enhance the airport security experience.
“Today, you’re going to see families have a lane right in the middle between the TSA and precheck standard lane," said Daniel Velez with TSA. "Where they can go down, they’re going to be greeted by transportation security officers who are going to help them divest their items."
Officials said the family lines are less rushed yet more efficient, which can benefit anxious travelers. The program is free to qualifying passengers.
