MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — Miami-Dade Fire Rescue has a venom response unit specifically for responding to snake-related incidents, and a video shared by the department shows exactly why.

The specialized unit, called Venom One, responds to venomous, harmless, native and invasive snake species that get a little too close for comfort and relocates them further from people.

Captain of the Venom One unit, Rusty Shaw, recently responded to a South Florida homeowner's nightmare: a huge Burmese python that took up residence in their shed.

It's a common enough problem in the region, which has a documented population of the invasive snakes, though no one can say for certain how many there are.
