One of the most bittersweet things that can happen to a manga fan is when their favorite series comes to an end; even in the rare cases when a manga ends on a high note, it still means one of their favorite stories is over and done with, and that’s almost always hard to deal with.

More than on a personal level, though, a manga ending can be a big deal when it’s something that defined the community. My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen ’s finales, for example, marked the end of the 2010s era of manga, and with the end of another big manga in 2025, so, too, comes the end of another defining era.
