PAYETTE, Idaho — Payette High School students were sent home early due to smoke within the building Tuesday, according to district superintendent Glen Croft.
The school on social media initially announced students were evacuated due to an electrical fire. Administration later updated the Facebook post , saying smoke in the hallways of the school prompted the evacuation.
All students were accounted for Tuesday morning. No injuries were repotted.
A spokesperson for Payette High School said the school will resume classes on Wednesday, Aug. 27. The damage to the building is minimal.
The spokesperson stated students were sent home early Tuesday to allow the fire marshal to complete an investigation.
