An Egyptian locust has been spotted in a UK garden - blown in on winds from the Sahara during the heatwave.
The bug is usually found in Mediterranean Europe and North Africa but was seen in Cornwall.
Cornwall Wildlife Trust said: "It’s likely this locust arrived on the same wind that’s dumping Saharan dust on our cars overnight.''
It said only one or two Egyptian locusts were seen in the UK each year, but changing climates may make conditions here more suitable for them.
