DAYTONA BEACH — Fan favorite Ryan Blaney won Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 by a car length to end the playoff chances of the next three finishers and position the 31-year-old for another run at a season title.

A late charge allowed Blaney to pass a dozen drivers during the final two laps of the 160-lap affair, taking him from the 13th spot to Victory Lane for the second time during NASCAR’s summer race at Daytona International Speedway.

“We just kind of took what was given us,” Blaney said moments after his 15th career Cup Series win. “Definitely not a traditional way we like to run, we like to lead laps, and couldn’t really get there until the end but got there when it mattered. It’s cool to win here again.”
