North Allegheny girls volleyball can go where no PIAA team has ever gone during the 2025 season, which began on Friday.
The Tigers have won eight consecutive PIAA titles, an accomplishment that has been reached only once since the first state championship was held in 1974.
Norwin is the only other school to win eight consecutive titles. The Knights, led by WPIAL Hall of Fame coach Sheron Watson, won eight straight titles from 1976-83.
Watson's Knights won 12 PIAA titles in 14 years, which ranks first in PIAA history. North Allegheny is a close second with 11 state titles. The Tigers can tie that record with another title.
North Allegheny can also tie the PIAA record for the most consecutive state titles in any sport, boys or girls.
