Colorado’s special legislative session convened Tuesday as lawmakers continue working to address a nearly $800 million budget shortfall caused by impacts from the recent federal tax bill.

The legislature has already passed most of the bills that Democratic leadership unveiled to raise roughly $250 million, part of their three-pronged plan to fill the $783 million budget hole. They are set to pass the last of those measures today, putting all of them on Gov. Jared Polis’ desk.
