Thousands of Chevrolet Corvettes manufactured by General Motors are being recalled due to a fuel leak that could pose a potential fire hazard, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
There are 23,656 vehicles included in this recall.
"Excess fuel may spill into the vehicle fuel-filler pocket during refueling and leak onto an ignition source," the NHTSA stated in the recall notice.
According to the recall, published on Aug. 21, the leak could cause a fire if fuel touches a hot engine or exhaust components.
The recall affects three different types of 2023-2026 Corvettes equipped with a left-side radiator/fan combination, according to the NHTSA.

The following vehicles are being recalled due to the fuel leak:
- 2023-2025 Chevrolet Corvette
- 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
- 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
What to do if you have a recalled vehicle
According to the recall, listed under ID Number 25V536000, owners can take their vehicles to the dealership, which will install a shield that will divert spilled fuel. The installation will be free of charge, according to NHTSA.
People who own a vehicle impacted by the recall will receive a letter informing them of the safety risk on October 6. A second letter will be sent out once the remedy is available.
