The Hackettstown Fire Department has been selected as one of three New Jersey volunteer fire departments to receive a $10,000 grant through the Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program, a national initiative supported by State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC).

The grant, announced on Aug. 18, Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day, will help the department purchase critical equipment to improve responder safety and community protection. Harrington Park Fire Company No. 1 and Prospect Park Fire Department were also named as grant recipients in New Jersey.

The Hackettstown Fire Department, which responds to approximately 300 calls annually, serves the Town of Hackettstown and provides mutual aid to communities across Warren, Morris, and Sussex counties. The department’
