Las Cruces High's volleyball team has earned national recognition.

The Bulldawgs have been ranked No. 7 in Region 8 in the first USA TODAY Sports/American Volleyball Coaches Association girls volleyball rankings of the 2025 season. The rankings will see the top-10 teams chosen from each region throughout the campaign.

Region 8 consists of Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Las Cruces was the only team from New Mexico to be ranked top-10 in the region.

The Bulldawgs are coming off consecutive 5A state championships and won last season's title with an undefeated 27-0 record, taking down La Cueva in straight sets in the championship game. Las Cruces also won the District 3-5A title with a 10-0 district record, lost only four sets all season and never lost two sets in a gam
