CINCINNATI (ENQUIRER) - Kroger is cutting back again.
On Aug. 26 it told workers it would cut “a meaningful number” of its corporate staff, according to reporting from our partners at the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Officials with the Cincinnati-based supermarket giant said the cuts would eliminate nearly 1,000 nationwide, including 200 in its hometown region. The latest cuts are the third wave of reductions of administrative and other non-store jobs in 2025 after Kroger made back-to-back cuts in February and March .
In a memo to employees obtained by The Enquirer, Interim CEO Ron Sargent said the cuts will “simplify the organization” and free up money for Kroger to lower grocery prices, add hours for store employees and spend more to improve its stores.
