(NEXSTAR) — Multiple pounds of dog and cat food have been recalled due to potential salmonella and listeria contamination.
Routine testing detected the possible problem, and no illnesses have been reported thus far, according to a company announcement shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Monday.
The recall impacts six offerings from Viva Raw LLC: Viva Ground Beef for Dogs; Viva Beef & Turkey for Puppies; Viva Ground Chicken for Dogs; Viva Chunked Chicken for Dogs; Viva Chicken for Cats, and Viva Pure Chicken. All six are sold as frozen, one-pound bricks in clear packaging. The lot numbers — 21495 for the beef options and 21975 for the chicken-based foods — are printed on the packaging as well.
