Yellowstone star Cole Hauser is set to join his longtime friend Matthew McConaughey in a new series for Netflix, according to a new report — and the upcoming series has nothing to do with Yellowstone .

Deadline reports that Hauser — who starred as Rip Wheeler for all five seasons of Yellowstone — and McConaughey will both star in and serve as executive producers for an as-yet-untitled sports drama series.

According to sources, True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto is on board to helm the project in association with Skydance Sports, which is now part of Paramount.
