The 49ers fell short of expectations and missed the playoffs during the 2024 NFL season, with injuries and other shortcomings derailing their hopes of a Super Bowl return.
And in the midst of their freefall, quarterback Brock Purdy was trying to do all he could to lift them back into contention -- a mindset he recently admitted made him lose sight of the playing style that earned him recognition in the first place, and forced him to make some adjustment this offseason.
