PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The City of Portland is searching for a city administrator, and applications have just opened online.
The administrator is a newly created position for the city after shifting its style of government at the start of 2025 and will cost the city between $284,000 to $393,000 per year.
For the past several months, the city admin role has been overseen by current administrator Michael Jordan, who has worked with the city for more than a decade.
In this role, the city administrator is in charge of overseeing an $8.6 billion budget along with 6,800 public servants in public safety, public works, community and economic development, and city operations.
The role also advises the Portland mayor’s office currently led by Mayor Keith Wilson, who took office in January 2025.
