ASHEVILLE – Less than three months after announcing his bid to represent North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives — and seven months before his party's primary — Democrat Moe Davis has dropped out of the race for the seat.

In an Aug. 22 social media post, the retired Air Force colonel-turned author and podcaster conceded defeat in the March 2026 primary where Davis was expected to face several other candidates seeking the Democratic nod, including Jamie Ager , CEO and cofounder of Hickory Nut Gap Farm.
