ALPINE The BB-RISE Kickoff Event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at Sul Ross State University in Alpine.

Attendees will hear from featured speakers, a Big Bend Rural Initiative for Success in Education student panel, district superintendents and others.

BB-RISE stands for Big Bend Rural Initiative for Success in Education, a nonprofit partnership of Marfa, Marathon and Alpine ISDs. Through the Texas Education Agency’s Rural Pathway Excellence Partnership Program, students in rural areas can participate in career and technical education they wouldn’t have access to otherwise.
