The Cañon City man who assaulted a parishioner at St. Michael’s Church on May 3 pleaded guilty to second-degree assault, a Class 4 felony, and was sentenced to two years probation, 90 additional days in jail and other conditions during a hearing Monday.
Delaney Sam, 25, also must complete 200 hours of useful public service, complete an anger management course, submit to electronic home monitoring for a minimum of 120 days, and undergo evaluations for mental health and substance abuse and comply with any recommended treatment. While on probation, he is prohibited from possessing and consuming alcohol or controlled substances and from possessing or purchasing any weapon or ammunit
