BOISE, Idaho — State Highway 21 opened Thursday afternoon after a landslide had closed the roadway in both directions from Grandjean to Banner Summit, the Idaho Transportation Department stated.
The reopening of the road is just in time for the upcoming Labor Day weekend.
ITD reported the landslide at 5:17 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, and it forced the closure of all lanes between milepost 93.7 and milepost 105.5, from Grandjean to Banner Summit.
Officials initially anticipated that the closure would take two days to remove all the debris from the road, which proved to be correct, as the road reopened on Thursday.
