LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- School is in session, and going back to school may look different for older adults looking to get their degree for the first time.

At 66 years old, Randy Varner is pursuing college for the first time.

"I'm retired and my biggest regret in life was not going to school," Varner said.

He's a sophomore studying hospitality after previously working in the industry for 15 years.

"Even though I'm not using college to pursue a career, lifetime earnings, I'm doing it to better myself and that was a good fit to pursue hospitality to take what I learned actually working and apply it. I consider myself an ambassador, so I'm really trying to help younger people. I have knowledge in that area and I want to pass on my experiences," Varner stated.
