The football field at Mt. Diablo High School in Concord was significantly damaged by a fire over the weekend, police said Tuesday. Concord police and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews responded Sunday morning to a report of a fire on the newly installed synthetic turf field at the school located at 2450 Grant St. Investigators found surveillance footage showing what appears to be several people, possibly juveniles, who set off fireworks on the field the night before.
