VALLEY CENTER, Kan. (KSNW) — Valley Center is looking to build on its identity of toughness as the Hornets prepare for a new year.
Head coach Scott L’Ecuyer enters his eighth season leading the program. Last year’s team went 3-7 while facing tough competition in the AVCTL and graduating 25 seniors.
The Hornets prided themselves on defense but also showed bright spots on offense. Quarterback Conner Thatcher returns to lead the offense, along with receiver Ray J. Logan, who set a school record last season with 38 catches.
With many open positions to fill, players see opportunities to step up.
“We talk a lot about our brand. Playing tough, no matter what the circumstances are,” L’Ecuyer said. “We felt like we did that really well defensively last year and just maintaining that brand of be
