Parker Messick struck out six over seven shoutout innings for his first win in the majors, and Kyle Manzardo drove in the go-ahead run as the Cleveland Guardians snapped their six-game losing streak, beating the visiting Tampa Bay Rays 3-0 on Aug. 26.

Manzardo and Brayan Rocchio each had RBI singles and Bo Naylor added a sacrifice fly in the first, putting the Guardians up by three and ending their 28-inning scoreless streak that began Aug. 22 at the Texas Rangers .

Messick (1-0) only permitted one runner to reach second base in his second game in the big leagues. The left-hander allowed four hits without a walk in a dominant 98-pitch outing, six days after making his debut at the Arizona Diamondbacks .
