MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) – Officials with the U.S. Coast Guard announced the largest cocaine offload in the country's history on Monday.
The Coast Guard, with partner agencies, offloaded more than 76,140 pounds of illegal narcotics at Port Everglades, including more than 61,000 pounds of cocaine and over 14,000 pounds of marijuana — all worth an estimated $473 million.
“To put this into perspective, the potential 23 million lethal doses of cocaine seized by the U.S. Coast Guard and our partners, are enough to fatally overdose the entire population of the state of Florida," Rear Adm. Adam Chamie, the Coast Guard's Southeast District commander, said. • The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton offloads more than 76,140 lbs of illicit narcotics at Port Everglades, Florida, on August 25, 2025.
