The Annapolis Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit has seized illegal drugs valued at more than $100,000 and $69,000 in cash following a seven-month investigation centered on the area of Oaklawn Avenue and Carver Street, the department announced Monday.

According to authorities, 35-year-old Timothy Charles Johnson, the subject of the investigation, was arrested on multiple indictments related to controlled dangerous substances.

56-year-old Jesse Brocenbeau Smith was also arrested on indictments alleging his role in the distribution network.

Police shared that members of the department’s Special Investigations Section and Patrol Division conducted a coordinated operation the morning of Aug. 14 that led to the apprehensions.
