An elderly woman died as a result of the fire at 95 Windsor Drive on Wednesday evening, Aug. 20. At Tuesday’s regular meeting of council, Mayor Matt Wren, who expressed council’s condolences on the woman’s death, said the blaze also left residents of 28 units without a home. Article content

Wren told council the fire displaced dozens of residents, depriving them of homes and belongings; he noted some of the displaced residents are without insurance coverage.

The mayor said the victims are mostly seniors.
