August 17, 2025, heard the roar of fighter jets cuts through the calm air of Alaska. Thousands of troops were already in the field from all branches of the US Armed Forces. The impressive array of force had gathered for the 2025 installment of the annual Northern Edge war games. At least 6,400 Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines deployed to the rugged wilderness and harsh coast of the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC).
All told, 100 aircraft, and seven naval vessels from the US and Canada mustered for exercise Northern Edge 2025 (NE25).
