LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- World Fuel supplies Las Vegas pilots’ gas, sponsors their customer services, and owns the company at the center of a new contract bid, but airport officials want a chance to explain why this isn’t a monopoly.

The Clark County Board of Commissioners agreed last week to delay a Clark County Department of Aviation (CCDOA) fee increase and begin a review into allegations that a department official, Ben Czyzewski, is subject to a conflict of interest since he also fulfills an unpaid role on an aviation service company’s board.

Several pilots at Henderson Executive Airport and North Las Vegas Airport raised similar concerns at publicly posted tenant meetings amid the changes to their lease agreements, which, if not resigned, could lose them their hangars.
