BLOOMINGTON — Curt Cignetti set off a dramatic chain reaction of criticism and whatabouttery last month with his SEC scheduling philosophy comment at Big Ten media days.

Since then, Indiana has been in the crosshairs down South. Coupling those comments to IU ’s own scheduling approach, furor has in some corners even outpaced that over Michigan’s punishments in breathless, angry censure and disapproval.
