BBC Breakfast star Jon Kay has bid farewell to a colleague on the show in a tribute posted to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday. The 55-year-old presenter, who co-hosts the morning news programme alongside presenter Sally Nugent from Monday to Wednesday each week, took to social media to mark producer Lucy's final day working on the show. In the post, Jon revealed that Lucy was leaving her role to develop her podcast, From a Lancashire Lass.

Posting a photo of Lucy sitting between Jon and Sally, 54, on the red sofa in the BBC Breakfast studio in Salford's Media City, Jon penned: "It's Lucy's last day as a staff producer on Breakfast.
