The new Paisley Grammar School will be a "jewel in the crown" once it opens next year, a senior Renfrewshire Council official has said. ‌

Construction of the state-of-the-art facility in Renfrew Road is "well beyond the halfway point" and "on track" for completion in the summer of 2026. ‌

An update was provided on the major project at a meeting of the local authority's education and children's services policy board. ‌

Gerard McLaughlin, head of education, dubbed the progress at the site "really exciting" as he told elected members: "We have a jewel in the crown, I have to say. This will be the place where people will come and look at what has been designed."
