Former Super Rugby and Maori All Blacks star Shane Christie has been found dead aged 39 after making heartbreaking statements about his health. ‌

New Zealand news outlet Stuff reported that police received a call informing officers of a sudden death in the city of Nelson on Wednesday morning, August 27, before discovering the ex-flanker's body. Christie made 29 Super Rugby appearances for New Zealand rugby union team the Highlanders, based in Dunedin, from 2014 to 2016.
