International flights have been suspended at Nuuk Airport (GOH) in Greenland . The notice was issued yesterday evening, and flights to and from foreign destinations continue to be unable to operate today. The reason for this unexpected suspension of international operations is said to be shortcomings in the security department.

The situation has prompted at least one diversion and several more cancellations, with seemingly no end in sight as far as the operational suspension is concerned. The situation has taken the wind out of the sails of an airport that had recently enjoyed network growth, with flights from the US having started this summer.
