ASBURY PARK, N.J. (News 12) - Officials in New Jersey say an 8-year-old boy survived a house fire by jumping from an upstairs window and into the arms of two waiting police officers and a neighbor.

Dramatic body camera video shows Asbury Park Police Officer DeWitt Bacon, Officer John Walsh and neighbor Joseph Dunbar coaxing an 8-year-old boy trapped on the second floor of a burning home to jump out the window.

The fire in a two-family home was reported just before 9 a.m. Monday. Two people downstairs self-evacuated, but the boy, who was home alone while his mother was working, was stranded upstairs without an escape route – except the window.
