(Watertown, SD) — More details are being revealed about a deadly jet crash involving a plane that left Watertown last month. A preliminary NTSB report says the jet experienced engine failure before going down near Granite Falls, Minnesota, killing pilot David Dacus of San Francisco. Instructor pilot Mark Ruff, who was onboard, survived after ejecting. Ruff told investigators he urged Dacus to eject three times, but Dacus never pulled the mechanism. The two had reported smoke and a grinding noise shortly after takeoff. The NTSB continues to investigate and will release a final report later.
