The gate to Burning Man has been closed due to inclement weather in the area on Tuesday evening.

"Rain is coming down, thunderstorms are present, and strong winds may follow," said the Burning Man Traffic account on X.

People in Black Rock City are advised to keep an eye out for lightning, take care of their camps, and stay safe.

It is currently too wet for people to drive on the playa, and people are asked not to drive to Black Rock City at this time.

People already on State Route 447 are advised to drive carefully and wait out conditions in a sensible location, as Gerlach does not have parking capacity for waiting vehicles.

It could take more than eight hours to get to the event site, according to the post.
