For the first time, Leagues Cup glory will be the exclusive domain of Major League Soccer.
All four semifinalists hail from MLS, with Inter Miami and Orlando City facing off in the first match to decide the tournament finalists.
Inter Miami has been down this road before. The Herons won the 2023 edition of the tournament in Lionel Messi's first season with the team. Messi's playing status for the semifinal is unknown with the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner dealing with a hamstring injury.
Orlando City is vying to win just its second trophy in club history, having won the 2022 U.S. Open Cup. Orlando has had Miami's number this season, outscoring the Herons 7-1 over two MLS regular-season games in 2025.
The winner of the Inter Miami-Orlando City semifinal faces the winner of the LA Galaxy-Seattle Sounders game in the Leagues Cup final. The losers will play in the third-place game. Both matches are slated for Sunday, Aug. 31. Both finalists, as well as the third-place game winner, qualify for next year's Concacaf Champions Cup.

What is Leagues Cup?
North America's top two professional soccer leagues — Major League Soccer and Mexico's Liga MX — take part in a summer tournament with Concacaf Champions Cup spots on the line.
What started as an eight-team tournament, Leagues Cup was a robust 47-team competition featuring every MLS and Liga MX club in 2023-24. This year, the tournament was modified to a 36-team tournament — 18 teams from MLS and all 18 teams from Liga MX. The MLS clubs that participated in the 2025 Leagues Cup tournament were playoff teams in 2024, with the exception of expansion side San Diego FC, which took the place of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
