Tv broadcaster Dermot Murnaghan has given an update on his ongoing cancer battle and has called for better screening protocols. ‌

The former Sky News host revealed in June that he had been diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer and is now calling for better screening processes for men over the age of 50 in high risk categories, or those who may be experiencing symptoms. ‌

Speaking about undergoing chemotherapy treatment, he told Sky News: "I wouldn't recommend it. It's hard. But that one thing is you feel that you are actively doing something in the hands of wonderful medical professionals. ‌

"You know, kicking back."

He went on to describe how as he has finished his course, he is now in the "waiting and seeing phase". ‌
