As many Oregon schools prepare to reopen next week, there will be relief that Attorney General Rayfield has reached an agreement with the Trump Administration in one of several multi-state lawsuits. In terms of the agreement, the full balance of education programs formerly clocked must be released.

Oregon Education Funding Reinstated By Agreement

Following Oregon’s lawsuit to stop Trump’s surprise education grant freeze that could have paralyzed schools last month, AG Rayfield confirmed that he finalized an agreement that is a major win for Oregon schools and forces the Trump Administration to release the full balance of remaining education funding for six longstanding U.S. Department of Education programs by no later than October 3, 2025.
