WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — This afternoon in Warwick, Rhode Island Congressman Seth Magaziner will renew his push for a bill to put an end to wage theft.
According to the congressman’s release, wage theft averages about $50 billion per year stolen from workers.
Congressman Magaziner’s bill, the Don’t Stand for Taking Employed American’s Livings Act, or Don’t STEAL, would reschedule wage theft as a felony.
It’s currently a misdemeanor.
