PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Democrats are losing ground in Arizona, while Republicans and Independents are making gains, according to new data.
Democrats have lost 108,000 voters in Arizona since 2020, but Republicans picked up 89,000 registered voters in that same time span. Independents have gained the most ground over the last five years. Numbers from the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office show there’s 170,000 more registered Independent voters now compared to November 2020.
It comes at a time when the Arizona Democratic Party doesn’t have a permanent party chair after the last party chair was fired just six months after winning the job.
