MASON — Mason Public Schools has agreed to pay $350,000 to settle a federal lawsuit connected to a reported sexual assault in a school building .

The lawsuit was filed in January 2024 against the district and several other people, and claimed a boy sexually assaulted a girl while they were in a class in May 2022. The girl reported the incident, which prompted a criminal investigation by police and a Title IX investigation by school officials.
